“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela On 17 July 2026, Delhi Public School, Asansol observed Nelson Mandela International Day. Students highlighted Nelson Mandela’s fight against apartheid, his 27 years of imprisonment, his role as South Africa’s first Black President, and his inspiring belief in the power of education to transform society. Addressing the gathering, Principal Mrs. Vineeta Srivastava urged students to imbibe Nelson Mandela’s values of courage, equality and compassion, while emphasising the power of education and true leadership. Adding an exciting element to the assembly, a FIFA World Cup Quiz, conceptualised by the Principal, generated great enthusiasm among students while encouraging awareness of current global sporting events and popular culture. The assembly concluded with the prize distribution ceremony for the Vedic Lotus Science and Art Competition, Wiz International Spell Bee, and the Writing Wizard Handwriting Olympiad, where students were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. Through such thoughtfully curated assemblies, Delhi Public School, Asansol continues to foster global awareness, contemporary knowledge, and value-based education beyond the classroom.
