Indeed it was a vision to create a wave of consciousness where education can change the course of the progress of the nation. In turning this dream into reality, DPS has come a long way from a humble beginning in President’s Estate in 1941 as Church High School to Naveen Bharat School in 1947.
In the journey of 50 years, DPS has produced stars, which are shining not only on Indian shore but also abroad. This institute has witnessed the movement of independence. This is the institute which has shared the joy of independence with the whole nation. With the arrival of independence, DPS also understood the need of awakening for emerging nation through education.
Till 1972, DPS Mathura Road, New Delhi - established in 1949, was the only DPS, but today DPS has spread its wings in all the directions. Each DPS has carved a niche for itself and with well designed programme they are in constant pursuit of achieving educational excellence.
Yet another addition to the echelons of well established DPS schools, DPS Asansol, has been established with the single minded perseverance of carrying forward the legacy of its parent organization- that of being an institute which is a compendium of holistic education and over all development of a child. DPS Asansol is affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, Upto Senior Secondary Level (10 + 2) With Affiliation No. 2430211 and School No. 15591.
OOur talented, diverse communities of students and teachers enable us to build a close-knit supportive team of enthusiastic learners of all ages. Ample scope for development of the students is ensured by the positive physical environment of the school. Lush green lawns, spacious and well ventilated classrooms facilitate both- the physical as well as the social environment of the school. Constant enhancement of teaching skills of the staff at DPS guarantees that our teachers are competent to handle the different needs of learners. The number of students, i.e. 30 in Pre-primary and approximately 40 in higher classes, grants plenty of scope for individual attention to the students. Thus, the teachers can nurture each student’s emotional, behavioural, social and academic needs.
With provision for Nursery and Prep II schooling, DPS Asansol offers the 10+2 years of schooling in affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is the largest School Education Board in the country for primary, secondary and higher secondary education.
Security Guards in the school premises and a fleet of buses for safe passage of each child to school and home ensures maximum safety of our students.
