With hearts brimming with reverence and patriotism, Delhi Public School Asansol solemnly commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas through a special assembly dedicated to the valiant heroes of the nation. The assembly commenced with a soulful prayer, invoking peace and strength. A thought-provoking skit brought to life the unwavering courage and supreme sacrifice of our brave hearts during the Kargil War. The students, through their performance, captured the emotions of the battlefield and the silent resilience of the mothers who proudly bore the pain of parting with their sons. In her moving address, the honourable Principal ma’am, Ms Vineeta Srivastava, urged students to draw inspiration from the Kargil heroes. She reminded them that these soldiers were once young, just like them — what set them apart was their bravery, discipline, and sense of duty. She spoke of bravery not as the absence of fear but as the strength to rise despite it, and called upon students to be vigilant, courageous and strong in character. The assembly concluded with the students rising in unison to chant ‘Jai Hind’, echoing a collective salute to the brave souls who ensured India’s victory — not just on the battlefield, but in the hearts of every citizen.
