A Guru inspires hope, ignites the imagination and instills a love of learning. Delhi Public School Asansol celebrated Guru Purnima with reverence through a special assembly held in honour of the invaluable role of teachers in shaping young minds. The programme began with a soulful prayer followed by a melodious song dedicated to the guiding light that Gurus bring into our lives. Students briefed the significance of Guru Purnima, highlighting its roots in Indian tradition and its relevance in the present day. A captivating dance-drama depicting Ekalavya’s Guru Dakshina to Guru Dronacharya stood out as the emotional core of the event. The performance captured the essence of devotion, discipline and sacrifice with remarkable depth. To promote awareness in an interactive manner, a quiz based on Guru Purnima was conducted, in which students enthusiastically participated, answering questions related to Indian mythology and cultural traditions. The assembly concluded with a heartfelt address by the honourable Principal ma’am, Ms. Vineeta Srivastava, encouraging students to honour their teachers and uphold the values they impart. The celebration left the audience deeply moved and reminded all present that the bond between a teacher and a student is both sacred and enduring.
