Delhi Public School Asansol conducted a special assembly with great enthusiasm to celebrate the 165th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The programme began with a soulful violin performance by Agnishwar Mukherjee of Class 11A, setting a graceful tone for the celebration. The assembly highlighted the significance of Pochishe Boishakh and reflected upon Tagore’s timeless ideals of humanity, peace, creativity, and freedom of thought. Students presented melodious Rabindra Sangeet choir performances, including Tomari Gehe Palicho Snehe and Amra Sobai Raja. Priyam Lahiri of Class 11A recited an evocative poem by Rabindranath Tagore, Kripang. A dance drama based on Kal Mrigaya added vibrancy to the programme. The programme was further enriched by an address from the respected Principal Vineeta Srivastava ma’am. She sang a few lines from the inspiring song “Jodi Tor Daak Shune Keo Na Aashe Tobe Ekla Cholo Re” and encouraged the students to always walk the path of truth, courage, and determination even if they must stand alone. Her words deeply motivated the students to become confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals. The celebration also included the prize distribution ceremony for the Basketball Tournament, Spell Bee Competition, and the SOF International Mathematics Olympiad. The commemoration concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired by the values and legacy of Rabindranath Tagore.
