The students of Delhi Public School Asansol, accompanied by their teachers, embarked on an enriching visit to Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), a distinguished hub of Indian railway engineering. The experience unfolded with a warm welcome by Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, General Manager, who engaged the students in an illuminating and interactive session. His articulate explanations on CLW’s functioning, achievements and its remarkable annual target of 777 locomotives offered a refined understanding of the organisation’s precision and expertise. The students were introduced to the key stages of locomotive creation—beginning with design approval, followed by prototype development, stringent testing by RDSO and the eventual commencement of large-scale production. The importance of CRS certification, granted after meticulous safety assessments during trial runs, was also brought to light. This visit proved intellectually rewarding, deepening the students’ awareness of the technological excellence that powers the nation’s railways. The successful execution of this educational experience was made possible through the support and guidance of the esteemed Principal ma'am, Ms. Vineeta Srivastava, whose encouragement enabled this meaningful exposure to the world of locomotive engineering.
